Say Goodbye to This Salty Snack on EasyJet Flights

EasyJet is no longer selling nuts on planes. The prohibition was enacted in March and is in-line with the UK government’s move to make the cabin safer for those with allergies. The ban is rooted in the case of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died after suffering a reaction to a baguette in July 2016.
In what it says is part of its efforts to protect passengers who have allergies, EasyJet will now no longer allow nuts to be sold on its flights, reports The Daily Mail. This prohibition was put into place in March and is in-line with the UK government’s move to make the cabin environment safer for those with allergies.
This ban is rooted in the high-profile case of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died after suffering an allergic reaction to a baguette bought from a sandwich chain at London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) in July of 2016.
While the airline has stopped selling nuts and products containing nuts on its flights, it says that it cannot stop individual passengers from bringing these products onto its planes but that it will urge them not to consume nuts in the cabin.
Speaking of this new policy, a spokesperson for the airline said, “The safety and welfare of all of our customers and crew is our highest priority so we have a number of procedures in place to assist customers traveling with a nut allergy.”
