^ Glad it's a 3 class service. What a pity it isn't the 777-300ER, though!

Just a word of caution: F-class in a 3 class A330 is nothing to write home about (unless they use a different configuration than the A330s used for European destinations), and C class isn't either. So, I fear I'll have to wait for October. SAA C is miles ahead of EKs F product in the 330.

Couldn't agree more in terms of hard product! But at least you get the F lounge and the possibility of decent F from DXB onwards. Even so, the price will have to be very competitive to compensate for the hopelessly dated F seats on a 10 hour flight.

BTW the timetable is loaded - it's an overnighter to DXB and a daylight flight back.

I assume we will be looking at ca. 25 Grand in F and 19 Grand in C to Europe/Asia which would be fine compeared to SAA's prices.

EK seems to have updated their fares / changed the routing so it allows CPT-DXB flights. To London, fares are as follows:

[KVS Availability Tool 3.0.2/Platinum - Sabre: Fares/ZUJ/SG/SAR]
Code:
CPT Cape Town Int'l ZA [FACT]
LON London Metro UK = LHR LGW STN LTN LCY
RT Dec-Nov

Carrier From To Fare Cur Expiry Min Max Fare Basis

EK CPT LON 11440 SAR 12M CAPRBA6
EK CPT LON 13814 SAR 12M JAPRBA6
EK CPT LON 25303 SAR JRT

No. Both EK and these airports have been trying to get EK the approval for serving these airports but LH has been lobbying hard to prevent the government for doing so.

Would be nice to see EK here in STR but only if they will serve the route either with an A345 or 77W (don't need their 332's until a substantial cabin refurb has been done)

QR being another candidate for STR though (their A330's very welcomed...)

They are serving DUS since many years (two daily flights).

They like to serve STR (Stuttgart) and TXL (Berlin), but have no rights for now.
