Plaze Premium Lounges is the online WJ accurate?

I just returned from YWG and arrived at the airport quite early.
I went to my departure desk and asked the WJ GA if they had a Plaza Premium lounge, she said no just the pay lounge around the corner.
So I went around the corner and had a $17 vodka.
Leaving from YQB tomorrow so I go on the WJ site to see if YQB has a PP lounge, only to find out that not only is there a lounge in YQB, but one in YWG.

So my question is, is the list accurate or was the GA in YWG misinformed?
Please advise....thanks!

I'm confused. The pay lounge is the Plaza Premium Lounge. What "lounge" did you buy a $17 vodka from, and are you sure it's not just an airport bar?

I can confirm two things:

Thing 1. There is a PP lounge at YWG. I have used it numerous times.
Thing 2. You overpaid for vodka.

Ha!

It was a double.
So where is the PP in YWG, I obviously cannot ask the super well informed WJ GA's.

Near the low numbered gates. If you walk as far as Starbucks (where you can also overpay for coffee) you've walked past it.

For the full list of WestJet-affiliated lounges, go here:

http://www.westjet.com/lounges

The "affiliation" with WestJet is pretty loose, so it's not a big surprise that their airport staff don't know much about the lounges. They're all pay-per-use ... unless you received a few lounge passes from WestJet by attaining Gold status.

The PP staff are no better informed...

...so I amble into the lounge yesterday at YQB.
Give my boarding pass, and she says you are not on the list.
I say please check again I've never had this issue before.
No she says, people behind me in line shuffling feet.
So I say go ahead I will call WJ.
So I do, am on hold for 10 minutes or so, and get a WJ CSR on the phone.
She verifies I have several e-certs left, so I pass the phone to the PP receptionist.
This rocket scientist didn't realize that some people actually go by a shortened version of their name (someone named Matthew going by Matt for example).
So she did not recognize that Matt Smith is the same person as Matthew Smith who lo and behold IS on the list.
Priceless.

I'm confused.

By "PP" lounge, do you mean Plaza Premium? If so, those are in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg. But there is NOT a PP lounge in YQB. (If I recall, it's an unaffiliated lounge simply called "VIP" there.) So where exactly were you?

And since when is there a "list" at lounge reception??? I thought all access for WestJet pax was by presenting a printed copy of a lounge voucher, which you get by emailing to yourself from the WS Rewards site? Since when did the lounge staff have a list of eligible passengers' names??

It is a salon lounge which was co-branded by Amex and PP. It's what AC E's and SE's use as well.
I haven't used an emailed cert in over a year.
Lounges have lists of Gold passengers flying on that day.
Just present your boarding pass.
It has worked perfectly fine until this episode earlier this week.

That's interesting. Didn't know they did that.

The YWG PP is hard to miss if you're in that area of the terminal. It's not very nice as far as I'm concerned as you feel like you're in a fishbowl when you're in there.
