$120 - 2001-3000 miles
$150 - 3000+ miles
*these fees are charged per segment

We've just updated our information page with information about Plus. And we filmed this sweet video so you can learn more about the enhanced product.

Cheers,

Here's the rates as of now (found here: https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/travel-info/fares/service-fees; fees below do not include up to 18% sales tax)

$15 $20 - 0-300 miles
$50 - 301-1000 miles
$100 - 1001-2000 miles
$120 - 2001-3000 miles
$120 - 2001-2500 miles
$150 - 3000+ miles
$150 - >2500 miles (domestic)
$175 - >2500 miles ("non-domestic")

There's no notation on the webpage if this is charged per segment, or if it's for the flight (if a single flight number has two segments). [Although, I'm not sure if WS markets routes with a single flight number with a stop (maybe YYZ-YYT-DUB?)]

$63.80 USD from YYZ-YYC tomorrow. Booked from Jamaica. I'm curious that it was charged in USD and that it doesn't seem to line up with the published prices. (Not complaining, mind).

I'm not sure if it applies to all Caribbean countries, but certainly itineraries originating in Jamaica to Canada will be charged in USD. Canadian originating itineraries are in CAD, US originating in USD, UK originating in GBP and Ireland originating in EUR. I would expect the plus upgrade would be close to CAD$100 in USD (plus any applicable taxes) for the 1,700 mile segment, or about USD$75 at current rates. Did you pay for seat selection before upgrading to Plus at check-in, as that may have reduced the charge?

Hi Darren,
Thanks for the reply. Our itinery does originate in Jamaica, but the segment in question is YYZ-YYC. We did not pay for advanced seat selection at all. We usually like to roll the dice and go for exit row or Plus at T-24. Like I said, no complaint from me, just curious.

Does the $175 2500 miles international count for YYC-LGW? Really hoping I get this offer for my flights next month. It was an extra $1000 if I booked plus outright so I passed.

It is $200 plus any applicable taxes and fees on the 767s to and from Gatwick: https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/travel...481724947358-4

Any flights leaving LGW will also incur an additional UK Air Passenger Duty fee of £75 (about CAD$130), besides any Plus upgrade costs, when Plus is selected.

Thanks!

Definitely worth the $200 each way as it'd be a $800 savings. I looked and only 10 seats left in plus with T-3weeks until departure... Hopefully a few stick around! I'll be definitely checking in right at T-24 lol

They have for years going back to when they had the milk-runs. In more recent years I have done YXE-YYC-YYJ flights where it is sold as YXE-YYJ and I am the only person on the flight that does not get off in YYC. Single boarding pass.

When plus is upgraded at check in, are the seat selection fees refunded or are they subtracted from what you paid for seat selection? Or are you just out that $?

Curious to know if in a case like this where you do not get off the plane, do these passengers count in YYC's connecting pax numbers?

I would think you are not out any money, since you got upgraded...

Sorry I meant paying for advance seat selection in economy, than upgrading to plus at check-in. So the $40 advance economy seat selection vs $200 plus upgrade, do you receive the $40 back or is it credited to the $200 plus so you only pay $160 or is the $40 just gone? I'm asking as other airlines refund you the advance seat selection payment from Economy if you upgrade to J/PY

I am 95% sure I have seen aerobod mention this before and comment that we don't get refunded, but you may want to search his posts to confirm that.
