If you want to skate between connecting flights you will have to take the train to the main terminal/baggage claim, exit the secure area and head towards the Westin Hotel adjacent to the terminal on level 5. Then head back through security to get to your connecting flight. Transit time on the train is about 5 minutes, and another 5 minutes to get to the rink.
