Cheapest way to go to Princeton, NJ from NYC?

Right now the cheapest way that I'm aware of is to take Megabus. I think it'll be about $26 for a round trip. Does anyone here know of a cheaper method such a taking commuter rail from NYC?

I don't know the price, but the NJ Transit commuter rail definitely makes the most sense to me and provides the benefit of frequent service and no chance of hitting traffic. The website is www.njtransit.com.

Megabus will be your cheapest as NJ Transit from Princeton Junction is $14.75 each way.

NJTransit absolutely has a more frequent schedule.

I think Megabus will take me directly to Princeton. Will NJ transit do the same or it'll take me to this town roughly 4 miles from Princeton?

The train will take you to Princeton Junction where you connect to another train for the very short ride into Princeton. Very painless and quick.
