Flight VA9948 KCW to LAX?

Does anyone know why there was a flight from KCW in Louisiana, to LAX??? I saw it pass over my head and it came up on FR24. Maintenance? Charter? Seems a odd flight since that airport has no service.

Three VA 777 in LAX today

Of course Flyertalk is where you come if you want information on anything aviation related. I landed in LAX around 5pm this afternoon (April 30) and thought it was odd there were three Virgin Australia 777 Aeroplanes, two parked and one, VH-VPD, taxiing after landing on either 25L or 25R at LAX Aerodrome.

Flight VA-9949 departed LAX for Louisiana at 18:45
