Compensation for inop seat

chose VA instead of QF to go transcontinental today in J.

Beautiful sticker saying "seat electrical functions inop").

Wasn't told at check in or boarding but was a nice surprise when I wanted to take a nap. And this is the only time on VA I've seen a full J cabin.

What have others received for compensation in the past for a non working seat?

A J seat that doesn't recline is essentially a Y seat. What was the difference in fare between the two?

Given that I paid full fare J, probably $800-1300?

Offered 20,000 points and an update on what engineering will do. I accepted without challenge.
