VS CEO Resigns

Announced in the Wall Street Journal today that Virgin Atlantic CEO Steve Ridgeway has resigned. I'm not sure if the link will pull up the actual article but from what I glanced earlier today, Mr. Ridgeway said that he will stay on to help find a successor. Here is the link. See if this will open:

Wouldn't show the article for me. It looks like you have to have a subscription.

Thanks for trying. I'll try to pull up other news articles on this subject if available.

The article states he us retiring... just a small difference though no biggy.

23 years with any company is a long time and I think it will be good for Virgin to get some fresh leadership.

This article says he is both resigning and retiring:

Then this article just says he's resigning:

Anyway, all the news is saying he is leaving in 2013.

It is good news since the redemption miles in this company really sucks.

I doubt it is a coincidence that Virgin had recently posted an £80million loss

Ex-UK fees such as Advanced Passenger Duty and the lack of network connections east of the UK via larger airline group/alliance are hurting VS and other European carriers. VS has been slow to react. We'll see what happens with new leadership next year.

I have met him a few times, he seems okay.

What has he done to require this comment.

He also owns the San Moritz Hotel in Cornwall.
