Amex Offer: $200 off VS fares over $1k
Hi,
Apologies if this is a repost / improper forum, I'm not a coupon hound. I logged into my American Express Gold card account and noticed that I had an offer for a $200 off coupon for any Virgin Atlantic purchase exceeding $1000. These offers are shown below recent purchases in the "Amex Offers and Benefits" section. You may need to press "load more" to see the offer. If/when you do, just press "enroll now".
Purchases must be made on the "American" version of the VN website, but any fare is eligible, as are a single purchase of multiple cheap tickets with a total over $1k. The $200 shows up in your Amex account, not as a reduction in the fare, which is nice. I picked up a $1200 non-upgradeable "K" fare for a Premium Economy ticket for an SFO-LHR round trip. After the purchase was completed, Amex sent me an email saying that the coupon had been redeemed.
On an unrelated note, I'm very happy to be abandoning United. I flew VN Premium Economy a decade ago and really enjoyed it. Except for the bit when I slipped the red apple into my briefcase, forgot about it, and customs at SFO gave me a dressing down and almost killed off my Global Entry. Yikes!

Good find! I wonder if a similar offer would be available to UK-based customers. If so it might sway me towards an Amex gold card...
And forgive my pedantry but Virgin Atlantic is 'VS' not 'VN'
Glad you enjoyed PE btw!
