787-9 Seatmap Released!

Virgin Atlantic has released their seat map for the their 789s

31 Upper Class / 35 Premium Economy / 198 Economy

http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en...ience/787.html

One Question: Why is J 3-abreast versus the 330 which is 3.5/4 given that the Dreamliner is wider?

Possibly due to the complaints that UC cabin on the 330 was too cramped with 4 seats across and that the aisles were to narrow as well which was also causing problems for the crew providing the service

I wonder if this means they are going back to the older style seats as well? Or is it just a matter of layout. Would be very odd for them to go back to an older generation of seats.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lack of toilets?

There are plenty. For UC, 2 in the rear, for PE, 2 in the front and for Econ, 4 in the middle.

well thank you for just repeating what it says on the VS website and not adding any more information. Most helpful.

Otherwise known as 'the aisle'. The seat map doesn't seem to show any extra space.

Well there are only a total of 5 showing in the map on the VS website. The current BA 787 fleet have an unimpressive 6 toilets.

Why PE/WT+ continue to be designed sans toilette bemuses me? BOS maybe, CPT no way.

The map shows large blocks for the UC and PE toilets. Each block has a larger toilet for UC and a smaller one for PE. These are dedicated to the respective cabins.

The Econ area has 1 each adjacent to the wings and 2 in the middle.

I can assure you there are plenty, with 2 dedicated to PE.

Thanks for clarifying.
If VS have 8 WCs (incl TWO in PE), against BA's 6 on the Dreamliner .... then that is a huge advantage to VS.
Will follow this closely and hope they get the map fixed (unlike VS to miss a basic trick like that)
