Hooters Airline?

What are the odds that the buyout of Vanguard by the Hooters Restaurant folks will happen? Has anyone heard any news in the last week or so?

Any further news on Hooter Airlines?

I wish to stay away from whoever buys those Vanguard planes.

The guy who owns Hooters made Vanguard an offer, but they rejected it and choose to liquidate the company.

And the creditors committee went along? The offer must have been below the liquidation value. Hmm.

It doesn't sound as though the creditors had a choice... the company could either sell or liquidate, and they choose to liquidate. It sounds like the CEO of Vanguard thought it'd be demeaning to sell the airline to Hooters.

On the plus side, it'd probably be easier starting up an airline from MCI than purchasing Vanguard.
