Interestingly, there seems to be no change to US' stopover rule, at least for the moment.
Still, deplorable to do all this with no notice.

Are 35k off peak awards to Europe new? Doesn't really matter because availability sucks.
As a shareholder, I'm ok with the move, but as a loyal customer not so much. Too bad the whole sector is getting pounded in the market the past couple days

In the last few days, I was looking at a flight PHX-CUN departing on 12/19/14, it was 40k high coach. Today, high coach is 65k. Wish I would have known about this change.

The changes are mild. The no-advanced notice part of it is the problem.

Ouch~ Finalize the award last night and was going to book later today.
Anyone know if this apply to award tickets on hold but not ticketed?

Looking at the new chart, the number of miles needed for "High - Level 2" is listed as "*". For the routes that I like to take, there is a large increase from the old "High" miles. Ouch.

Given the number of bloggers who had been promoting the 90K as one of the best award-chart bargains, I was actually surprised that US didn't up the pricing last week when they released the new Oneworld award charts. I figured they could make that change without providing advance notice under the guise of synching with the AA award chart. Doing it a week later with no notice seems a bit odd.

Glad I went for the *A 90K award to HKG as opposed to waiting for CX to be a USDM option...

I see that this is the chart for OneWorld.
Travel on any one or combination of the oneworld member airlines - airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways1, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia1, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines, and TAM Airlines.
I was briefly hopeful that the 90K award still existed for the handful of Star partners that still remain, but found it also to have increased to 110K.
Travel on any one or combination of the following US partner airlines - Aegean Airlines, Air China, Air New Zealand1, Avianca2, EVA Air3, Hawaiian Airlines4, Jet Airways, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines5, South African Airways, TAP Portugal, and Turkish Airlines.
*sigh*

If I put a hold on a flight in business to north asia yesterday, will that hold the 90k price or will the price on the day it is ticketed be used?

narrows the premium for F to 10k, which is probably the easiest decision i'll ever make.
