BDL-PHL US - UA fare differential on US metal
Now that Southwest has stopped flying BDL-PHL, US has raised its one way coach fare to $229 from under $100. However, on the day I need to fly in May, UA is offering a code share for $59 on US metal -- a big $170 difference. If I book on UA, can I assume I will get my preferred miles credited to US? What about preferred seating -- will I be able to get that? And can anyone explain why UA is so much cheaper for a flight on US?

UA codeshares on US metal earn Preferred Miles on DM.
As for preferred seating, some have reported success in advance. All remaining seats are up for grabs at OLCI or check-in.
As for why the UA codeshare is cheaper - it's a matter of who has which seats in inventory. Perhaps US sold out its $59 seats already, while UA still has some available (so grab 'em while the going is good )

Just shows why the airline industry is so screwed up - but I'll take advantage of the fluke. Thanks.

Noticed that the BDL-PHL fares went up! The second SW stopped the fares went up!
