Booking Other *A Carriers on usairways.com(??)

Apparently, usairways.com didn't think it was funny when I looked for an itinerary from CLT to AKL. It said the itinerary didn't match any flights on US Airways. Well, DUH... But you'd at least think it'd show any alliance flights to a given destination....

UA and LH are on there.

I noticed that it's finally allowing you to book a non-US metal itinerary. For example: BOS-SFO-SYD all on UA is now bookable since all those flights have US codeshare flight numbers. However, it still will not let you ticket non-codeshare *A flights. For example: BOS-FRA-BLR is not ticketable on the website since BOS-FRA is not a US codeshare, even though it's a *A flight. I'm curious to know if that will ever be possible.

Edit: Looks like it still won't give you the option to book a codeshare where US already flies if it's not part of an itinerary where your final destination is somewhere where US metal doesn't already fly. For example, BOS-SFO is a valid US codeshare on UA, but usairways.com won't give me that as an option. I give up on figuring this out.

even worse

You have it nailed... they claimed that as of the 17th *A flights would be bookable, but really they meant half-assed *A booking would be allowed.

Get this - I did a search for DCA (Washington DC) to BZN (Bozeman MT) and got this:

Coach: $1690
First: Sold Out
8:29 PM 25 Mar 2007
Washington, DC (Reagan) 1:45 PM 26 Mar 2007
Bozeman, MT 116 / 2772 / 7303 / 7875 / 8017
Stops: LAS,MRY,SFO,BOI

Five flights, when on United it is doable in two!

Does anyone have insight into whether this will be changed to allow for true *A booking, and if so, when? For award flights, it wont even allow a search to/from Bozeman.
