Does US have an interline agreement with ElAl?
A single ticket, on AA stock. First segment LY TLV-VCE, second segment AA flight number on US aircraft, VCE-PHL. Can bags be checked through?
Thank you!

In my experience all OW airlines will check the bag through if it's on a single ticket.
But you should probably call US and ask them.
How long is your connection in VCE? (excellent creative routing BTW!)

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry: BlackBerry8530/5.0.0.1030 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/417)
Unfortunately, LY is not a oneworld airline.

You're right, it is not. My statement was a bit poorly worded: I meant to say that all OW airlines with whom I have had experience in this direction interline luggage with all other airlines as long as the trip is on a single ticket.
Unfortunately my experience does not extend to US.

I think the single ticket is key here, now that AA will not interline baggage on separate tickets unless one is flying one world partners <link>. Since this began this month, I'd not be surprised if US will follow the same policy.
Since the connection is LY to US, and in most respects AA and US continue operating as separate airlines, I'll move this to the US pre-merger forum for more informed replies from US flyers.

TPA Admirals Club US and AA agent confirmed for me that me US IT currently wont allow them to drive bag tag from two PNRs, even if OneWorld to OneWorld.
Would be less worried about LY to US same ticket though. I imagine that will be OK.

What wasn't so smooth was check-in: on-line check in with US didn't work because the first segment was "with a different airline". El Al (understandably) could not check them in for the US flight. So they found themselves in VCE with no boarding passes for the US flight, went to the gate and had to wait for it to open in order to get the gate agent to check them in. Not a big deal, but not very smooth either.
