(TARGETED) Triple RDM Offer [Promo Code TB9M24]

I just received the following email from United. I used to be a Premier/Premier Executive for a few years, but I switched all my flying to American after the merger and rollout of the "enhanced" MileagePlus Program. I currently have no status on United and have not flown on United for nearly two years. It's definitely a great offer but not enough for me to book on United over American.

Enjoy triple miles on all qualifying flights.

To show you how much we value your business, we are offering an exclusive opportunity for you to earn triple miles on all qualifying roundtrips you take with United until January 15, 2014.

We're working hard to provide the complete travel experience you expect and deserve. Now is the time to fly United again.

MileagePlus Terms & Conditions:

1. Only original recipients of the email invitation to the offer can register and participate in the promotion.

2. To qualify for this offer, eligible members must register on united.com prior to travel, then purchase and complete qualifying roundtrip flights to any destination served by United or United Express during the qualifying ticketing and travel periods.

3. Ticketing dates: October 15, 2013 - January 15, 2014

4. Travel dates: October 15, 2013 - January 15, 2014

5. Members can earn triple award miles for travel on all paid qualifying published flights.

6. Triple award miles is defined as three award miles for each mile flown and include base miles earned on paid segments flown during the promotion period.

7. For this offer, roundtrip is defined as travel from an origin city to a destination city with return travel from the destination city back to the origin city, with all flight segments operated by United or United Express. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. One-way trips, circle trips, multi-city itineraries and itineraries with stopovers do not qualify for this offer.

8. Bonus may be earned for a maximum of 75,000 award miles, in accordance with these terms and conditions.

9. The offer is not valid on United-marketed codeshare flights operated by other carriers.

10. The offer is not valid on government fares.

11. Passenger must be a member of the United MileagePlus program to qualify for this offer.

12. This offer is not combinable with other non-combinable offers.

13. Bonus will be posted to the members MileagePlus account six to eight weeks after the end of the promotion period.

14. This offer does not apply to Premier qualifying miles (PQM), class-of-service bonus miles, class-of-service PQM, Premier bonus miles, redeemable bonus miles or other promotional PQM.

15. Service charges for ticketing with a United representative in the 50 United States and Canada are $25 by phone, $30 at a City Ticket Office and $35 in person at the airport. Ticketing charges may vary outside of the U.S. and Canada and based on MileagePlus status level. The ticketing service charge does not apply for tickets purchased on united.com. Service charges are subject to change.

16. Offer is subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.

17. Miles accrued, awards, and benefits issued are subject to change and are subject to the rules of the United MileagePlus program, including without limitation the Premier program (the MileagePlus Program), which are expressly incorporated herein. United may change the MileagePlus Program including, but not limited to, rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers or terminate the MileagePlus Program at any time and without notice. United and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents are not responsible for any products or services of other participating companies and partners. Taxes and fees related to award travel are the responsibility of the member. Bonus award miles, award miles and any other miles earned through non-flight activity do not count toward qualification for Premier status unless expressly stated otherwise. The accumulation of mileage or Premier status or any other status does not entitle members to any vested rights with respect to the MileagePlus Program. All calculations made in connection with the MileagePlus Program, including without limitation with respect to the accumulation of mileage and the satisfaction of the qualification requirements for Premier status, will be made by United Airlines and MileagePlus in their discretion and such calculations will be considered final. Information in this communication that relates to the MileagePlus Program does not purport to be complete or comprehensive and may not include all of the information that a member may believe is important, and is qualified in its entirety by reference to all of the information on the united.com website and the MileagePlus Program rules. My guess is that these offers will increase in another year or so when there are quite a few "use to be UA elite" that no longer qualify or left due to the newly enhanced revenue-based mileage plus program. It does seem odd to try and lure folks back that were shown the door a year prior...oh well

Is this a common exclusion? I have never seen this before on any of these bonus RDM/PQM offers...

I wouldn't doubt that it's a legal one more than a business one.

No joy for me (expected) along with no joy for goalie-sis, goalie-mom and goalie-dad (and goalie-mom & goalie-dad haven't flown revenue on UA for a year)

These promos are really of little use to anyone but a corporate travellers who travels on short notice. Even though I have a half dozen UA flights this fall, all my tickets were purchased months ago so none of these promos (or the PQM one), last year or this year, are eligible for the bonus.

Not eligible once again. I'm starting to really get annoyed by these targeted offers. You think they want to reward their most valued customers not the one who don't fly.

not really - offers like this are to attract new and/or disaffected customers. These are not rewards but rather intent to drive increased business.

Why ? If you are already flying that means no matter they give you the offer or not, you will still fly with them no less.

It makes perfect business sense to get those who don't fly to actually fly.

That's around the same time I booked my last paid flight, too, burning miles since then, but no love for me. Wonder if million milers that haven't flown aren't being targeted being that they do retain elite status.

Any other million milers that have not been flying get the e-mail?

Agree but it would be nice once in a while to have offers either available to everyone or to frequent flyers. I understand that they are trying to attract people who are not flying but as someone who flies a lot and never is eligible to any of these offers, it's starting to annoy me that's all. I feel left out!
