How to revive expired miles ?
Assuming that a person recently received notification that 15K in miles expired, is there any recourse that the United FF member can do to revive those miles or get them reinstated? I assume that there were no flights or hotel stays in the preceding 12 months but that there were flights, hotels or rental cars in the past 18 months.

Some have been successful with getting miles back; others, not so lucky.
If you run a search here about "expired miles" or something to that effect you will uncover quite a few threads about this topic.

Expired miles may be bought back for 1.25 cents per mile, plus a $25 processing fee. Please call the Mileage Plus Service Center at 1-800-421-4655, 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. CT.
