Redeem UA Discount Travel Certificate Online

I received several United Airlines - Discount Travel Certificates.

I'm planning a trip in July and would like to use these certificates.

My question is how do I redeem them online?

Or can't I?

Regards,

Jim P.

If they are paper vouchers, you can't redeem them online. UA currently has no method of online redemption for paper vouchers. Only e-certificates can be redeemed online.

You will need to redeem these either through ticket-by-mail (where you make the reservation by phone and then mail in the vouchers) or by going to an airport ticketing counter. Some travel agents may be able to accept them, as well - I'm not sure about that last one.

Search for "voucher" and you'll find a few hundred threads that discuss such instruments. Good luck!

rumor has it you can also book online, hold the ticket, and take that record locator to your nearest airport to book it, using your paper cert and a credit card if the fare is higher than your cert.

i've never done this, but I've read it works.

Highly recommend you read
The Consolidated "Combining UA Credits, Vouchers, and Goodwill Certs" Thread [Merged]
there are significant limitations on combining certificates.
Also search for "discount certificates"

Some can be online and some can not.
The appraoch of holding a book online and then completing in person or by phone does work.

Also beware of $100 Certs that were acquired on eBay last year.
