Not necessarily...if you are a thousand miles from the threshold and they offered you to $20 for the 1000 or an accelerator deal...might be worth it. Especially if you only fly once or twice a year...this would be the chance to bump yourslef over for the not so savvy flyer...I understand that on a "per cents" basis it may not be the cheapest..the average MP member who sits on 22k RDM in their account, are flying somewhere that is 2k roundtrip with no bonuses...and get's offered this deal at OCI or something may think that for the extra $$$ they will have enough to redeem an award. I don't think very many FT'ers fit this category of flyer...I know I don't, but for UA this may generate some cash from people trying to do just that, cross an award threshold of some kind.

One benefit of this is that it essentially allows those flying on YB fares to always have enough miles to upgrade TPac and TATL flights. Same goes for 1K/1Ps on MH fares. This also circumvents the cap on the number of miles you can purchase per year directly from UA.

Anyone who doesn't see irony in the introduction of this right after the termination of the 500-min isn't cynical enough either

Me, me, me! My first thought, especially with the ORD-CLE example at the top of the list...for $9 I can pretend I'm still getting a 500-min, sorta.

You already get double RDMs as a 1P!

But not the all-important EQM.

I note that this promo has now increased to $30 for 1,000 miles.

Add 1,000 bonus miles to your next flight for just $30. Register now

I didn't see it explicitly on .bomb, but I'm assuming the "doubling" and "tripling" is before any elite bonus? Or, as a 1P, do I get six times the BIS miles if I buy the "triple" option?

Which brings the two programs in line. They're both $0.03 per mile.

I'm sure. You're not getting double or triple, you're gettong an additional 100% or 200% of base miles.

When I wasn't logged in, it just took me to the log in page.

If you could kindly share why you think that way, I think some of us would be happy to debate it.
