FWIW (and I notice this stuff) I believe they're the same size in C and F.

Over three large glasses of tempranillo, I have contemplated this, and I think I understand your confusion:

When you say "large ramekins" in F, you're thinking of the large ramekins that they use for the appetizer soup course these days. They look JUST like the nut ramekins, but are about 50% larger. Maybe some of your FA's messed up and used them for nuts.

Only one size of ramekin for nuts.

The nuts are boarded in the ramekin by the kitchen.

The fa's didn't screw up.

You obviously have no clue what you're talking about, since often nuts are boarded in bulk.

Exactly, in a approx. 4"x6" tin for heating in the oven

I know exactly what I'm talking about.

The nuts are in the ramekins when boarded.

There is a separate tin of bulk nuts, used for offering seconds.

Right. Sometimes.

Sometimes, the ramekins are separate, and all the nuts are in bulk.

Sometimes the ramekins don't show up at all, and only bulk nuts show up.

I was served hot nuts on my flight from STL-DEN yesterday that had macadamias. They were served in the small foil containers that is normally used for heating the sauce to pour over the main course. Holy cow was that hot!

There were only 3 of us in F on this 737 and we were not offered additional nuts. Later I did see the FA sitting in the jump seat eating some nuts out of one of the containers.

Yesterday, domestic F: nuts in differently-abled ramekins -
wider and shorter than normal; capacity I think slightly larger.

The only thing consistent about UA is its inconsistency.

The only thing consistent about the catering company is its
inconsistency.

Yesterday: nuts boarded in bulk trays; last week: nuts boarded
in very small alfoil cups.

It is hard to make this kind of blanket statement about a company
that does business in dozens of countries and uses numerous
contractors.

Wirelessly posted (xx: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3)

Just got off MUC-ORD and the nuts were unsalted. Enhancement?

I flew a couple of flights last month, on which flights the left-over warm nuts (and these were salted) were used to top the ice cream sundaes. Enhancement?

(Unique flavor, mixing the salted nuts with the sweet ice cream)

Not sure if what you had was what I had on this Monday's ORD-BOS but the nuts I had were warm and of higher quality than I've ever seen on a UA flight.

There was even a Macadamia nut or two in there. In general, these nuts were substantially less salted than the typical UA nut.

Were they at least hot (not just warm)?

Any chance to salt them yourself?
