IE 9 uses 256 bit encryption, so the new United site is unable to recognize encryption higher than this. IE 9 worked fine on the CO site yesterday, so I wonder what is causing it to no longer recognize higher level browser security.

I just downloaded Firefox and it works fine; I assume they'll fix this glitch soon enough.

How old of a browser are you trying to use? There's no reason why you should be using anything less than 128 bits in this day and age.

The one where you still have to load the IBM punch cards.

Sorta like I walked into Best Buy and asked the salesman (probably 16 or 17 y/o) I need a SONY Walkman cassette player and he asked me "What the Hell is that"?

Thanks, thats the deal.

Now I'll hold my breath to see if my highly prized and coverted 09CHFS discount certs that I got a couple weeks ago will work on CO, you know--the certs you have buy up several fare classes (about +$200 worth) to get the $100 discount.

Looks like they have the 128 bit problem fixed. I was just able to get in using IE9, and everything has transfered over to the new system.

The thing is the step below 128-bit is normally 40-bit. That's the old US export limit. It's also easily cracked by modern systems.
