Turkey in HKG United Club for Thanksgiving

Here in The UA club in HKG, its Thanksgiving morning, there is whole Turkey, being hand carved with some side dishes. Very surprised, early start to Thanksgiving (On the way back to States for dinner).

That's a nice thing to do in Hong Kong. I find such things annoying when they happen in the US. I hate when office and school cafeterias start providing Thanksgiving dinner on the days before Thanksgiving. Really once, on the day is enough - thank you.

But in Hong Kong it IS Thanksgiving Day. So I think is a great gesture for those that celebrate it and aren't home to enjoy the feast.

Yes, it is Thanksgiving day. Most here are going to USA, so its an early start! Wonder if other clubs have the same?

I think we should all just be happy the United Club is doing anything at all. We've all seen how UA has been more interested in cutting things rather than going to the extra mile. Whether this was initiated by someone locally or is a company thing it is a nice gesture for what are generally lackluster clubs.

That's a nice surprise - through all the bad UA news it is nice to see something like this.

That's what I'm SHOCKED about. UA doing something generous, and as a good will gesture. Totally shocked. I'd faint if they did something generous in the US - emergency room.

Correct me if I am wrong, but UA does not really run the UC in Hong Kong, but another company. Therefore you are correct in your surprise that UA did anything positive - they did not.

This is the best UC in the world. No surprise that they do this.

Now second best after LHR, imho.

Love it though. Kudos to UA HKG.

Goes nicely with UA's 'no more real/red meat dishes in coach policy" .

Now the chicken/turkey food nonsense already starts in the lounge ... ok I understand it's a special occasion but it'd still get on my nerves.

Best to enjoy it and not mention anything, lest the HKG club manager could get reprimanded
