Looking to do IAH-OSL so either connect in EWR or FRA.
Since there are no UA/SK code shares, I believe it will be almost impossible. That said, I've been able to get Google Flights to (hypothetically) book C tickets on SK using the UA website--there is a thread in this forum about the dangers of booking SK tickets on 016 stock.

Edited to add: nevermind. I was able to on Google Flights (by selecting Premium Economy and departing/arriving from a non-SK gateway). On UA's website, seats booked into either B or P, which technically is SK Plus.

Thanks. I was able to reproduce that and I'd be booked as a P. Just worried that SAS wont accept that after I book it.

Booking via United for Lufthansa

Want to book Premium Economy on either Lufthansa or Air France. sfo-vce. Reviews of Air France Premium economy by travelers is 90% bad. The seat rotates in a shell and is supposed to be very uncomfortable.

Lufthansa gets a lower review by the experts but at least the seat partially reclines.

Anyway, from what I have heard, no way to book PE through United. Anyone done it?

they will. On an SK flight # there is no risk w/ the booking class.

What do you mean? UA and SK have hundreds of codeshares.

I think its referring to the fact that this flight carries just a SK flight # and not a UA flight # as well.

This. I recently had a complicated itin that UA couldn't book (a RT with breaks wouldn't break at the right spots on .bomb.) Went to ITA, got the string and called UA and read it to them. The agent had to send it to the rate desk but it worked in the end. She did comment on how prepared I was.

What "string" are you referring to? The one that looks like this: NKWNC13S or this one: ORL LH FRA 504.50NKWNC13S LH ORL 879.50EKX38RCE NUC 1384.00 END ROE 1.00 XT 5.50YC 7.00XY 3.96XA 35.60US 5.60AY 10.10DE 46.00OY 37.10RA 516.00YQ 17.50YR 4.50XF MCO4.50

Sorry about that. SK and UA do not have any TATL codeshares. Those disappeared a few years ago with the UA/LH joint venture. Intra-Europe and domestic NA codeshares are alive and well.

There's a couple ways you can go. This can be useful (bolding is mine):

Fare 1: Carrier UA PLE7ZAM3 CHI to SIA (rules)
Passenger type ADT, round trip fare, booking code P, A
Covers ORD-NRT (Business), PEK-XIY (First)

Fare 2: Carrier UA PLE7ZAM3 SIA to CHI (rules)
Passenger type ADT, round trip fare, booking code A, P
Covers XIY-PEK (First), PEK-ORD (Business)

Since it shows me (and them) that it is being booked as a single RT under the rules PLE7ZAM3.

This says much the same thing, in a more detailed format that shows exactly how the fare was contructed but included things like the various taxes that are static in terms of finding the base fare:

Fare Construction (can be useful to travel agents)
CHI UA TYO//BJS CA SIA 1079.00PLE7ZAM3 CA X/BJS UA CHI 1079.00PLE7ZAM3 1S100.00 NUC 2258.00 END ROE 1.00 XT 5.50YC 7.00XY 3.96XA 35.60US 5.60AY 28.50CN 730.00YQ 4.50XF ORD4.50

Fail. To quote the UA CSR, "LH does not give us fares in Premium Economy to sell. You need to book that directly with LH." Web help desk said the same thing.

I was unable to get a fairly complex multi-segment itinerary priced through the rate desk (TATL G and E fare and Y on LH/OS within EU with first/last segment on UA metal). 1K desk was very helpful and got it to the rate-desk within 10 minutes, but rate desk was unable to price it out at all for another 40 minutes or so.

ITA priced it out as a R/T on LH fare rules with stopovers on the inbound. Eventually booked it on LH for ITA price without an issue (tried UA ticket stock only because of current spend promotion).

Google Travel

I just was able to book outbound and return on LH with one domestic United leg and Google allowed me to book it via UA.com on 016 ticket stock in E, or premium economy. The PQD/PQMs all showed up as described on the website, namely 1.5X miles.

Then I went to the LH website and picked my seats.

Pretty nifty! ^

This is interesting, this does seem to work. Just tried MCO-ORD-FRA-MCO and ORD-FRA-MCO booked on LH in PE(booked into N) with LH flight numbers. With the same price that is displayed on Google. I got as far as the payment screen on UA and then stopped. Hopefully this isn't just a glitch..
