Thanksgiving Business Sale

Thanksgiving business class sale is on. I got ORD-LHR rt (in P class) for $2,025. Not too bad I think.

Thanks! The sweet spot seems to be departures as early as the Sunday prior and returns beginning on Thanksgiving. It also looks like there's about a three day minimum stay, generally.

And I noticed the rt fare in First is only $2900 -- not worth the added $900 for me, but for some it might.

Thanks for the notice. I've taken advantage of it in previous years.

I found ORD-YUL-ZRH-LHR-YUL-ORD on AC and LX (AC codeshare) for Thanksgiving week bookable on Orbitz for the same money ($2062 ai).

The code share is AC Z class fare so I don't know if the LX fare class is Z or P.

Either way a nice business class product TATL.

these fares have been around a couple of weeks but seem to be a little lower now. $2325 SMF-DUB, wish it applied for earlier November as that is when I need to go for work, but alas $3800 then with an 8 day min. to get the P fare.

Fares are only $500-750 higher around Christmas (e.g., departures Dec. 18-31).

Not sure this belongs in the UA forum, as other airlines have similar fares and at least some of these have been discussed in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...es-2013-a.html

Yes, my routes are unchanged from the P prices that have been available since early summer.

Anyone know how long we should expect these to stick around? I think I remember looking at fare rules sometime in July and seeing that ticketing for that particular fare was required before end September.

IME it's more about when P inventory dries up on the flights you want than fare rule ticketing deadlines -- several TATL flights that I wanted are P0, despite being C9D9J9 and having wide open C/J seatmaps. (And in other cases, it was the domestic leg being P0 that caused problems)

You snooze you lose. I bought mine on June 19. Many of the P fares that were available then and the choice routes and times are now gone. If you are interested in these type fares, it is worth following the premium fares thread in the mileage run forum. This is where I learned of the excellent fares in mid June.

Is United planning on trimming its international schedule around Thanksgiving again? If prior years are any guide, come September you may find that your Ord-Lhr flight no longer exists. Not saying it WILL happen, but have seen it happen before.
