I am happier in a 190 w/o E+ as I am on a 737 w/ E+ because of the wider seat and no middle seats. I also love the 1-2 configuration for business that allows a combo window/aisle seat and no seatmate.

I checked to make sure the e175 is the same width as the 190 here:

You do realize currently NONE of any UX's config E70 has any entertainment and food options are only a snack box right ?

Incredible timing for this announcement. I just filled out 2 surveys from last week where I flew E145s. My only comment - get rid of the E145s.

Now if UA CS was "on the ball" I'd get a response from them with this press annoucement highlighted. Alas....I submitted the survey into the abysss.

On an up note, I am glad to hear this is happening. I loath the E145s.

The E175 is the only UA/UAX aircraft that I've never flown (but heard great things about)...I don't even think I've ever seen them in PDX...has anyone ever flown on an E175 UAX flight west of DEN? I would think they would be a perfect fit for flights like SBA-DEN or PSP-DEN...

They dont have any at the moment. E170 is smaller. Air Canada currently has 175's.

Great!! This is good news.

Sure wish they'd add F seats on the A319/A320/737-700 though. A carrier should not have more F Seats on an ExpressJet than on a mainline jet. lol

True but UA's fix would be to remove them on this new plane.

I guess I'm thinking of the version they have now...the E170s....see them often at DEN but not once have I seen them scheduled for a flight going west (of DEN)....and I've never seen them at the UAX hub gates at SFO...is SFO the only hub without E170 service?

That's like saying "I'm 5'2'', so E+ is worthless"

It's not gourmet, but when your baseline comparison is a box o'carbs or re-heated 7-11 item, it's pretty damn good

Fair point - should have looked at LGA, that's basically all mainline, but that's NYC too

EWR to CLT is another interesting one - EWR-CLT-EWR is 100% (crap) RJ on UA, 100% mainline on US

DEN to SLC too is good - 100% RJ on UA (half Devils Chariot, half marginally better CR7) vs. DL with a few mainline, and the rest all big 2 cabin RJs.

Too bad UA doesn't have more CR7s/E70s to go around to cover all the pitiful single cabin RJs running routes between major cities

Great news to hear! I've been loving US's 175's and glad to see the huge F cabin. ^^

Don't worry there will be more coming. Jamie Baker's analysis is that UAL can add 87 76 seaters before triggering any penalties from the pilot contract. The penalties essentially call for parking 50 seaters which Jeff will happily do. Expect most 50 seaters to get turned into beer cans sooner rather then later...

I'm surprised by the mix when the B735/A319 only have 8F.

48 E- is pretty bad, nearly 2/3rds of the plane.

They took the E170 config and used all the additional space for F, making no improvement on the worst E-/E+ ratio in the fleet.

Hope you don't book last minute onto one of these!

I recently flew the 175 and was quite impressed by it. Why not actually put ovens in them? They fly some rather long flights, e.g. YYZ-DEN that are not at all short hops.
