NRT-LAX Business advice

I am looking for advice on a Business class trip from NRT-LAX.

Options are:
UA890 on a pmUA 777-200 or
UA9686on a All Nippon Airways 777-300ER

The price and schedule are the not a factor, I am just looking for opinions on which has the better in flight experience

Thanks in advance.

Definitely take the NH flight.
It might be better to book on the NH flight.

NRT-LAX Business advice

No experience with the NH seat or service but the CO (pmUA) seats are great, and the crew also tend to be pretty good.

Have you considered that the UA flight may or may not have lie flat seats- as I am finding out it is difficult to predict!

Good point Jimmy Z.

I am a big fan of the pmCO 777 flat seats and configuration. I have not been impressed by pmUA 777. Looking forward to when the ? over what you get is behind us.

I too would choose the ANA flight; the food, the service, and the seat are splendid! Actually, I would't even give UA/CO a thought.

I've been fortunate enough to be upgraded on both NH and UA (newer config). Seats and entertainment were comparable. If I had to choose it would be NH... better food!

those that say the CO or UA C seat is "Great" must not have flown many other airlines in C. The NH seat is 100X better. Every seat has aisle access & room to stretch out when its a bed, the CO seat is fine for shorter hops to Europe but that little cubby hole for your feet ruin the seat. NH food, service & IFE is miles better then the sCO flights (& the sUA flights as well)

UA C seats are great when your not paying for them & upgraded but if paying for C or F, you don't fly UA. Especially when NH gives you the same mileage credit

100% agree. Not even a contest there. Go with NH.

When are you going? Keep in mind that UA puts the 787 on the route in a few months.

+1. The NH seat and cabin far exceed both pmUA and pmCO.

NH in an instant: food, seat and service are all significantly better than UA even with the UA lie flats. Plus you'll have a gamble with UA on whether you get an old crappy recliner instead of a lie flat.

Don't know what NH facilities are like at LAX, but you'll have better service at NRT with NH.

PS Avoid the Tomato Parfait (seriously!) for desert on NH. As the saying goes, knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad!

And I am pretty sure that NH gives the UA FFs 100% bonus miles also.

Go NH all the way. I took my first flight on this route on UA...eh...the last three I have taken on NH and its so nice. its a 1-2-1 config in business class with a lot of privacy for every passenger and great service. easy to sleep on the lie flat bed

ua is 2-4-2 which is terrible for a biz class product.

now once they offer the 787 on this route I might change my mind
