Ord-nrt on ua award ticket-worth it to change planes to fly non-ua metal?

There are award tickets in y for ua non stop ord-nrt. But not for ANA ord-nrt. Is it worth while to book a connection to fly ANA on the tpac leg? Are there any options involving the A380? Thanks.

There's no A380 service (on any carrier, *A or otherwise) into ORD.
NH economy has better service than UA. But NH doesn't have the extra legroom of E+.

I believe SQ flies the A380 on LAX-NRT-SIN so you could possibly do ORD-LAX (UA), LAX-NRT(SQ).

I am going to move to United, as this is a request about MileagePlus.

In C or F, I will always change to one of the Asian carriers over UA. In Y, though, E+ trumps everything else. If you do not have E+ and are traveling in regular economy, ANA service and food are better.

In C it depends. NH still flys sliders into ORD whereas UA is flat-bed. Depends on what's important to you, but I would always take the flat-beds on a flight of that length.

Good choice.

Order a special meal and that will help--I like Moslem meals ex-ORD.

Muslim meal? What is in that?

I did the special meal one time and then liked what everybody else had better. Lol. I thought I was at an advantage. Never thought about a Muslim meal.

Wish I could order a pizza . . .
