Construction has begun at ORD. The first jetbridge is being installed at F12-B.

With so much UX running in/out of MCI these days, I'm finding myself spending more time around the F gates.. Looking forward to the larger RCC ^

Wonder if the new jetbridges are actually to expand capacity, or just to make all the areas from the F gates accessible via jetbridge. Also wondering if (and if yes, how) they can connect all of the F1 gates, and if the further parking spots at T-1, B22 will be done as well.

I can't speak for the United Club (which i suspect will just take over adjoining office space), but the T2 "renovations" are anything but. They are just converting F12, F14, and what will soon be old F11 into permanent jet-bridge space. F12A is being shifted down, and they will install more jet-bridges. I'm under the impression that F14 is going to become a big multi-jet-bridge area but I haven't seen exact plans.
Word on the street is the project is on track to be completed by winter, so we'll see. I was at 12D yesterday and it looked like they were dismantling 12A. I believe all of F12 will be closed as of ~May 10, and we are temporarily using more B and C gates until the project is finished. I believe once that end is finished they are moving to F1-F4 to do the same thing.
It's going to be a welcome change, but it's not going to improve the terminal itself really, just the boarding process.

I can't honestly think of anywhere for the club to move to. F4-F14 is all gate space, and beneath the gates is operations/express carrier office and break room space. The space in the carpeted walkway from E-F is all UAX agents office space. The Hudson news closest to the club just opened ~6 months ago so they wouldnt be closing that and taking the space..
I'm quite curious to see where and how they are expanding.

I used to go spotting at ORD back in 1984 and would ask the employees how to get to the observation decks and was always told they were closed due to maintenance. I never actually got to go in them.
Now the closest you can get is the top of the parking garage. That's if you are lucky and the cops don't tell you to keep moving.

United just tweeted the following:

The Club of the Future is coming to ORD in late 2012. Take a look at this artist rendering. Http://pic.twitter.com/oZG13aLt
So it looks like it's taking the old clubs location.
Looks good from this one picture, can't wait to see it!!
