OT: best LHR-SE10 transfer?
Not explicitly BA-related, but there are just too many Londoners here to miss the opportunity for some good advice. I'm off to London for a month, with wife and infant (and therefore loads of luggage). HEX doesn't seem that much of an option as I don't really fancy shuffling prams and suitcases on and off trains and cabs. Any advice for a reliable/reasonable (no limo required) transfer to London?

I have not tried this company but a company called Fairway Kenwood is offering £28 (minicab) from central London to Heathrow.

Not sure what they would charge from LHR to London but I would think it wouldn't be too far off.
Also, I don't know what company it is but Sheraton Heathrow uses a company with fairly spacious vehicles as their 'taxi' service. They charge £47.50. You may be able to find out who they are if you call Sheraton Heathrow.
Alternatively a black cab would cost roughly the same amount, I'd say.

I'm sure some minicab companies may be able to provide a child seat on request. It doesn't hurt to ask them.
I know when booking Addision Lee (the taxi firm we have a corporate contract with) there's an option for child seat on the booking form. I've not delved any deeper than that though.
Note: I'd recommend asking the taxi firms mentioned above first as they'll almost certainly quote a better fare than Addlee.

OK, I had no idea about infant seats. Minicabs may be able to arrange for one though, so do check with them.
Once you rule out taxis and minicabs, your options may be very limited - tube (not recommended with luggage), bus (dot2dot operated by National Express does London hotel transfer for about £20, not sure if you'd need an infant seat), HEX or Heathrow Connect.

Helicopter? It might be a bit pricey, however.

We'll let this run on the BA board for a bit before moving to UK & Ireland.

As layz says Addison Lee are a good choice if its comfort and ease you're looking for. You can price up your exact options at http://www.addlee.com, they include the options for a baby seat and the vehicles they use have a lot of space for luggage. I just priced a trip from Heathrow to SE10 with a baby seat and it came out at £87, but your time and destination may change that.
