Speyside Whiskey via Tours/Public Transport

We're heading to ABZ on Friday and just found out our tour of Speyside is off. Curious if anyone has any suggestions on tours they have taken? Public transport seems sparse although the Keith-Dufftown Railway sounds like fun!
Cheers
Howie

Public transport will be difficult, but you could look at departures from Inverness. The train journey to Inverness is also worthwhile

Hope you get something sorted out - but please try not to offend the locals by writing about whiskey - that stuff comes from Eire and the USA. What you get in Scotland is whisky!

On a visit to Scotland a few years back, we took a train to Nairn and went to the taxi queue at the station and the third driver we spoke to was willing to provide a 5 hour tour to several distilleries. The price was reasonable at the time ( about £60 or £70), and the driver had worked at a couple of the distilleries in the past.

We have been to over 30 distilleries over the years, and that group of visits with the taxi driver was one of the best.

Once you arrive in Aberdeen either ask the hotel staff for info or enquire about whisky tours at the local tourist office. There should be other options available.

Surprisingly not as many as one would think. We actually sorted it out thanks to arranging a ride from Dufftown to Keith so we can catch the late train back. I'll update this for future reference after our trip!
Cheers

Glad you got something sorted.

I suppose Aberdeen not being a major tourist stop probably explains the lack of tours.

The thing about ABZ is that there's quite a few cool things in Morey, but ABZ itself isn't much from the research I've done.
