Manchester airport travel disruption: Now till August 5 (bridge demolition)

The M56 is scheduled to be closed until Monday due to pinch-point improvements and bridge demolition.

The motorway will be totally closed both ways between junction 5 at Manchester Airport and junction 6 at Hale from Friday night and could well be closed until 5am on Monday 4th August.

Yes I got that email. There are other ways to get to MAN by road and also by train. Inconvenient perhaps though. Glad I am in the USA though at moment - it would have forced me to take the train.

Have updated the title to 'demolition', as 'demo' tends to indicate 'demonstration' round these parts...
