What a list! No wonder people are complaining of inappropriate service levels!

Reminds me somewhat of Malaysian in the mid-1990s. (and of the 70s music hit and film in the UK: The Harder They Come, The Harder They Fall.)

Such non-organic growth never lasts. Can't. Not natural.
There is always someone, usually an insider, just waiting to pull the plug.

Wait and see, as one says.

A word to the board of TK. Your ambitions are high. That's fine. But paths are made by walking, not shouting. And a bit of listening. Example: Bamako has been going down the tubes for years, so sadly -- this is not a time to open. No-one told you? Or did you never ask? Exodus traffic never works.

Good point about Bamako. Now especially seems like not the best time.

But what do you mean by "non-organic"? TK seems to be looking at the same pattern as QR -- connecting under-served (or so the hypothesis goes) destinations with the network (as opposed to EK, which is more about adding frequencies and capacity to major destinations as much as adding new ones). They have the added ambition, it seems, of focusing on the Muslim world (some say that Fethullah Gulen seems to influence their route decisions, which might or might not be an interesting source of market intelligence.)

Still, one can't help but look at their ambitions as fanciful, especially given how slow they are to realize all of these preliminary announcements. And I also agree that capacity limitations at IST seem to be a constraint.

So TK's plan is to serve every single country in the world? I think they are pretty much close to cover all Asian and European capitals at least.
