Thanks for the comments, folks.
Geordie405 ... yes, it was quite cool this time. Last August it was a lovely toasty 110şF, which was much better!
dylanks ... yes, sorry we failed to connect. I hope your wife's birthday went well?
bitterproffit ... I was not aware of the bag drop at the rental center, as we do everything in the basement level with Avis Preferred. I will take time to explore that next time.
KeaneJohn ... A good point. The Departure screens in the BA Lounges only show BA flights!
HIDDY ... Thanks for the literary criticism [again]. IMO TRs are supposed to be informative.
TiffyWren ... Don't worry, we won't make a habit of flying Economy. Next trip is CE to UK and DUB

Loved the TR - thank you for your time and effort.
I keep on trying to persuade MrD to do an ex-somewhere to the US but as yet he doesn't see the logic.
I particularly liked the photo of the pancake machine in the lounge - I love those things and will over eat bad pancakes with too much syrup and butter just to see them work (maybe that's why my 'logic' doesn't work )

Another super trip report sir! Thanks.
Great info on the DUB set-up ... and yes, during the Winter schedule the single AA flight does alter the dynamic a bit. Interesting the Hilton is a viable option for you, may look into that (anything to do with 'shuttle bus every half-hour' puts me right off). But the Maldron has got +GBP30 more expensive lately
Glad the Economy experiences, plural , worked fine. I seem to be doing more of those lately and OWE/BA Gold helps a goodly amount for seat selection.
Nice car too!

missdimeaner ... thanks! I guess we've grown accustomed to the ex-DUB, partly for the cost saving but also for the US Preclearance which makes life so much easier.
littlefish ... thanks to you too. We choose the Hilton as we try to keep HHons Gold Burnell's Grill is a decent eatery too, although it seems to have got a bit more expensive since our last visit. The Shuttle timetable is largely unchanged since the last time [45-minute cycle, and shown on the hotel website], so not exactly ideal.

Excellent report. I thought it was up to your usual standards. Sorry Hiddy. AA are the way to fly across the pond. Off to JFK next month with them from Edinburgh on a really good fare. (Using the ba codeshare of course). Thanks to the BA board for highlighting that as well. I need to investigate the ex Dub.

Sadly we fly so rarely it makes the possibility of Lounge encounters incredibly small! The JER Do would work, though!
