Love all the toilet comparisons! It reminds me of how shocked I was when I visited the W Taipei...

Great TR !

Remember my first experience of a Japanese toilet seat. It was prepared by a most gracious lounge-cum-toilet servant, who put the heat a bit higher than my preference. Managed to change wrom well done to medium rare while sitting there.

As promised here are some photos of a Business Class washlet on ANA's Dreamliner.

I have already posted some photos of the control mechanism but have to add this photo of instructions on how to open the door from inside. It is not exactly intuitive and some people apparently had problems getting out!

The Koreans can one-up the Japanese in this one.

I was in the KE Lounge in ICN last month (No pictures sorry). The toilet seats in the lounge are the usual fancy variety, but they have one more feature that I haven't seen in any Japanese ones yet - It can warm AND cool the seat.

So now you will need to do a trip to Korea and report back to us

I was a bit surprised with the plethora of buttons in the toilet area in the oneworld Frankfurt lounge (and the warm seat! yuk) and then realised it was a JAL lounge so that probably explains it.

Sorry , but I have to ask. Does water splash all over everything during usage?
And are all the buttons cleaned? I'm not normally sqeemish, but toilets and airplane toilets
Are my nemesis.

It depends. Some toilets are designed so water only splashes when someone is actually sitting on the seat. Others may splash water regardless. Water pressure on airline washlets is quite low in any case.

I don't know if buttons are cleaned regularly but you can always wash your hands after touching them. It's not any worse than flushing a conventional toilet. BTW on Dreamliners the toilet flush is activated by a motion sensor. And we are talking about toilets on Japanese airlines with flight attendants making sure toilets are cleaned regularly during the flight.
