AA F on 3 hour or less flights (NE<->DFW), I'm now 1 for 15 this year. That 1 was last week DFW-RIC.

Cheers,

UA - totally depends on cabin crew.
NW - totally depends on cabin crew.

I've gotten water/juice only, nothing, and "what would you like to drink" from both airlines in domestic F in the past couple of months.

I've noticed lately that I receive a beverage service on NWA when departing from a hub, but not an outstation.

I've had the same experience on US in F. It definitely depends on the cabin crew.

I have found with AA it depends on the crew. Usually you get the water/OJ/Champagne choice. Earlier this year on a ORD/LAS am flight, I wasn't offered anything until about an hour after sitting down (half hour in the air). Weather wasn't an issue, just a lazy crew. Drink was served with breakfast and picked up with tray. FAs read books the rest of the flight.

DL

Leaving ATL on DL on MD88. We had to beg like dogs. FA was BUSY fiddiling knobs and making useless announcements. It happens all the time from there.

I can personally vouch for CO, UA, & AA all giving preflight, First Class drinks. On a recent CO flight it was a haul less than 30 minutes, still got a bourbon before takeoff and one during the flight.

It ALL depends on the crew on ALL US-based carriers, except AS (water bottles only). UA is OJ or water, as mentioned above, NW, DL, US, AA, CO all suppose to offer pre-departures, anything you like, IF the crew is not totally lazy (or the aircraft is delayed or catering is delayed)

All of my recent UA flights have had preflight drinks. On an Explus shorthaul, we had water, but usually OJ is offered on the larger planes.

With my experience, AA is 50-50, escpecially on short flights.

DL generally does, unless the plane is delayed and they're trying to get everyone on as fast as possible. Even then though, there are bottles of water at each seat.

AS does give out the normal pre departure water bottle, however there is nothing restricting them from distributing alcoholic beverages. Thus if you found a very friendly helpful F/A with time they could theoretically distribute an adult beverage to an F pax. It is not part of the normal operating procedure though...
