I haven't purchased soap in approximately 6 years, because I have a neverending supply of hotel soap. I use only the "face bar" when staying at the hotel, and take home the "shower bar." I view it as a sort of triumph if I stay at a place like Embassy Suites with extra sinks in the room and I'm able to collect extra soap.
Basically my wife doesn't allow me coming home without "presents" from the hotel. Soap, shampoo and the nice fluffy slippers are among theh favorites

I copy my parents and bring home hotel soap also but it does not stop there I also bring home the hotel stationary and pens and one time only when I was 16 a down comforter from the four seasons.
I will take everyone I can get my hands on that won't incur a fee. Hotel shampoos/soaps are great for future travel...and, I can't remember the last time I actually bought shampoo or soap at a store.

I don't use the soap in the room (need to use Dove, because of my eczema). But, I do bring home the shampoo and conditioner. Works well in our guest bathroom...
Absolutely all the time. Soap, shampoo, conditioner et al. Particularly loved the La Source Crabtree & Evelyn amenities at the Hilton Metropole in London. 2 pound tip to the housekeeper and a short note ensured that i had a two month supply of the stuff!

For the people who take the soap home - are any of you women? (not trying to make sexist generalizations, but am genuinely curious)
I'm scared to use hotel shampoo or conditioner for fear it will dry my hair out. And i don't use their face bars for similar reasons. The only hotel amenities that I actually use are the bath soap and, on occasion, the sewing kit.
Do the other ladies of FT also tote way too many skin care products on their travels or am I the only one?
