adding passport pages

I know there is a thread about this but the search function isn't pulling it up. I am almost out of passport pages and recall a thread saying it is free if added while traveling overseas? Has anyone attempted to add passport pages overseas or can point me to the above-mentioned thread?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,
I had pages added at the US embassy in BUD for free a couple years back. Same day service as well!

There are actually numerous threads on this, as search is down, a quick recap:

Do it in the US: Wait possibly weeks and pay through the nose.
Do it abroad: Generally done while you wait and its free.

One more possibility is to show up at a Passport office in the US and get next day service for about $60. I did that in LA last year and got double the amount of pages added than I asked for!

Stimpy...that is through the nose.

Punki, the US embassy in Brazil is in Brasilia. There is a consulate in Rio, one of several in the country.

Given the brazil visa is the reason i'm out of pages, I'll get it done at the consulate in rio. Thanks everyone
