Thanks but I did realize that they also have international cargo flights.

But the comment from Box5 also said that using the term "international" is, as the poster said, "good to distinguish if a city has multiple airports". Those cities would only have one commercial passenger service airport which was why I included them.

Now if Box5 meant more than one airport of any type, including GA, then that impacts a number of airports using the word international including Fresno and Sacramento since both of those areas also have GA airports with the city as part of the GA airport name.

Mont-Joli airport in Quebec.

Its IATA code is: YYY

I always though that is what passengers say when they get off the plane in Mont-Joli...

Why Why Why

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a nice catchy name. Except ...

It is ruined by the fact that some people call it Orange County Airport, others call it Santa Ana and I am always getting calls from friends and relatives asking whether booking their flight to Santa Ana will get them to John Wayne Airport and/or Orange County, California, not to be confused with Orange County, Florida.

I think GRU has the longest official name:
Aeroporto Internacional de Sao Paulo / Guarulhos – Governador Andre Franco Montoro

But the popular name is "Cumbica"

Rivière Rouge – Mont Tremblant International Airport (YTM)
Dakar-Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport (DKR)

And just plain wacky:

Wagga Wagga Airport (WGA)

Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport (IATA: SAV and KSAV)! 40 miles from Hilton Head (which has it's own small airfield and is in a different state) with minimal international service. I actually liked the former name: Travis Field (when it was an Air Force base and named for Savannahian General Travis) - not to be confused with Travis Air Force Base in California. Many older Savannahians still call it Travis Field. It was also known as Chatham Field (after the county it is in). I recall as a youngster when the city and the Air Force swapped properties to create Hunter Air Force Base (now, Hunter Army Air Field) and Savannah Airport.

John Wayne is at the top of my list. Another is Ronald Reagan (DCA), but lots of people still refer to it as National.
