The most overrated places
Subj. Share your opinions - resorts, places/locations, 'experiences' (whatever is means) etc.
Most importantly, please write why it was/is, from your point of view.

Las Vegas - a huge waste of electricity, in my opinion.

Based on my first visit, Paris. It was impressive, but just didn't hit me the same way other cities did on the same trip.
I will say, however, that my 2nd visit changed my perspective on Paris, probably because instead of trying to cram everything in like on my first visit, I just tried to experience. I enjoyed it so much more that way.

I found Salt Lake City (the city itself) boring as hell. Had to head to the mountains to have fun.

NYC. Big, rude, smelly.
Across multiple trips, various lengths, business and leisure, I've just never understood the appeal.

Amsterdam. Didn't really see the appeal other than certain Dutch girls on bicycles. I thought the tree-lined canal were just filthy and cramped, not full of charm as some people like to claim. In terms of artistry and presentation, the city is quite a bit below the sophistication and grandeur of cities like Paris, London, Madrid and Rome. Don't even get me started on the food, which are mostly generic and bland. On top of all that, the weather tends to be overcast most of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I had some of the best times in my life when I was still college, and visited Amsterdam during the summers. I still love Koninginnedag but really that kind of experience I could have on your random weekend frat party.

London. Been living in this place for four years and I'm still wondering why. Sure, it has some charming corners, the Grand Union Canal, Notting Hill and Maida Vale and the Hoxton hipsters riding fixies but... Everything else is crowded, expensive and generally poor quality.
