site59 or similar?

For a while there was a web business called site59.com that specialized in last minute travel packages. Don't know what happened to it, but you might try "last minute deal" + "flight" in google and see what you get.

Well, it does sound like you had pretty cool adventure for $10
For a couple of high school seniors in 1971, you bet! We told our friends in school "Oh, last weekend we flew to Tulsa for lunch..."

I've actually done this several times, although "desperation" may not have been the word to use. It was more like "Hey it's Friday night and I have nothing going on this weekend - what should I do?"

I've ended up in San Diego, Los Angeles and NYC based on these adventures so far, with three hours notice at the most. Haven't regretted a single one of them.

And here you are 39 years later still reliving the adventure!
