Ayopgi - Social planning app for travel
Hi all,
We are here today to introduce a new service which aims to make the process of trip planning easier for people traveling in groups larger than 3.
The problem:
We realized that organizing trips which involve more than 3 or 4 people is a nightmare. There are many conflicting opinions and keeping everyone up to speed all the time is difficult.
Traditional methods like group chats and google sheets often end up in a mess - Haven't you ever woken up to 100 unread messages in a group chat and thought to yourself: "There must be a better way to do this"? Or having to open 100 tabs to check out all the places that your friend has added to that spreadsheet only to realize that you don't want to go to any of them?
There are apps out there like Tripcase that try to alleviate this problem by helping you get more organized. However, we feel that most of them fall short in one way or another. Thus, we set out to create our own solution.
The solution:
The solution we came up with is called Ayopgi - we are a startup from Indonesia and Ayopgi is short for "Ayo pergi" which means let's go in Indonesian.
So how do we plan to help make the process of trip planning easier for you?
Our app will allow you to create a trip together with your friends. This trip will have a common itinerary that all the participants will share.
All of you can add activities concurrently to build your schedule together. You can even start a vote on an activity if you're not sure if everyone wants to go.
We integrate with Foursquare and Yelp to provide you with options for activities, so you can save the trouble of having to perform that google search if you already know the name of the place. As an added bonus, opening hours and reviews are only a click away from all the participants in your trip!
There is also a comment section dedicated to each activity so you always have context when chatting about a particular activity
Finally, there is an interactive map view from which you can get a birds eye view of all of your day's activities and plan your route for the day!
Caveats:
Since we currently integrate with Foursquare and Yelp to provide information about activities, destinations to countries that are not covered in Foursquare or Yelp are not yet supported.
We are still a young startup, so many of the features that we intend to implement are still not there yet (still in the pipeline). For instance, we have yet to integrate hotel and flights booking, but we intend to do so in the near future.
The app is currently out on iOS but not yet on Android.
We would really appreciate it if you could try out the app and give us some honest feedback so that we can continue to improve the product to serve you better!
