Anybody using Acrobat 8 Pro w/Vista?

I've been trying to install this for weeks now, yet the installer crashes each time I try to install it. I type in my serial number and hit next, select "complete installation", and when I hit next the installer just crashes. This happens regardless of which option I choose on the prior screen (typical, custom, complete installation).

Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

Also, this is what comes up when I click on problem details on the crash screen

I'm pretty sure there is a problem with installing the printer driver software. Have you tried disabling UAC an running the install as an administrator on the PC?

Right-click setup, and choose Run as Administrator.

Failing that, switch to Foxit. I ditched Acrobat about a year ago and have not regretted the decision for one second. Miserable bloated POS.

Foxit Pro ( www.foxitsoftware.com )and PDF-XChange ( www.pdfxviewer.com/ ) are both Vista compatible, less bloated and easier to deal with than Adobe Pro.

Try to download it to your c:\ drive root (not in a folder) and install from there. I've had to do that with a few programs with Vista.

Nope as well.

I think there's something wrong with my system cause I've downloaded the installer from 2 different places, one of them being Adobe.com, and it doesn't work with either. What's weird is that this is a freshly formatted system- I wiped and reinstalled barely a month ago.

Oh well....back to looking for a new smartphone
