finding addresses, phone numbers ?

I have a list of names of 50 local people to whom I've been asked to snail invitations to a party for our mayor. I know names, probable land line area code, definite first three digits of zip code.

The 'people finder' sites I had bookmarked are defunct and the ones Google has shown me mostly find a name and city and then want me to pay.

So, if I'm going to pay, has anyone here a recommendation?

I'd like a local white pages kind of resource which might also list cell phones, employment or other ID data (so I can distinguish which John Allen ... ). At one time, the data for everyone who had a public utility account was online (PG&E).

You could try putting the land line number into google and see what comes back. Google imported all of the White Pages a few years back. I have had mixed results with it lately. YMMV, but it could help with some of them.

Otherwise, if you're feeling embarrassed about calling each person to ask them for their mailing address, this sounds like the perfect task for one of those overseas concierge/personal assistant services such as Your Man in India. Even if you're not embarrassed, it still sounds like the perfect task for them. I haven't used them, but there was a great article a few months ago in Esquire Magazine:

I haven't been able to think up a practical need of my own to use their service, although I think I'm dangerously close to having them ghost write my autobiography as a lark (don't tell the Mrs.) Has anyone else used them or other such services? I'm curious to hear the opinions/conclusions.

Without the full telephone number, you are pretty much at a loss if you want the info for free. If you can figure out the city (the area code will give you state) from the last three of the zip you can see if they have a phone listing at any of the zillion online phone books like white pages, anywho, etc.

I find it hard to believe there is a list with only a partial phone number and a partial zip code that is legitimate and not taken from shredded paper with the other stuff missing, that's just a very weird listing.
