Popular Mechanics has an interesting article about the FAA's testing of a new GPS based ATC system. Sounds promising.

I don't really mean to be a cynic, but the FAA (or DOT or TSA or....)fixing ANYthing is laughable.

Wonder how much fuel more direct routings would save. Gotta be millions of gallons.

In the meantime, Delta will continue to prompt you to buy Carbon Offset credits every time you book a flight.
