Best Value device for listening to Podcasts
What would you recommend for an iPod-like device that can be used for watching Podcasts that is cheaper than an iPod? If only an iPod will do, what do I have to spend to get something that will do a good job of playing Podcasts?
TIA for your advice!

Use your Discover Card (Details) to save 5% more making it $142.50.
There is also a potential 10% Sandisk rebate available, making it $15 cheaper. Thanks to slickdeals.net

PS: the 6MB was on sale for 100$ but has since expired..

Most podcasts are just audio.
If you want to watch video podcasts, then your best value might be a used or refurbished Video iPod. The current models are 5th generation, but you could probably find a 4th generation one for less.
Video iPods are generally quite a bit higher in price than other nonvideo iPods, due to the larger capacity and extra features.
Places like Overstock, NewEgg.com, SmallDog Electronics, PowerMax, etc often carry older generations at reduced prices. The Apple Store also carries these in their "Special Deals" section (look for the red price tag in the bottom right-hand of the main page). eBay and craigslist will have used models for sale, but be careful. ebay is swarming with fraudsters and grey marketers, and items on craigslist are sometimes not up-and-up deals.
There might be more in-depth discussion on finding good deals in forums like ilounge.com.
good luck!
