Boingo deal from Amazon

Amazon's offering 6 months of free access to Boingo hotspots if you download the Boingo app from Amazon Underground. No idea if it's Android only or if it also works with iPhones, too.

Amazon Underground is Android only.

I was able to create an account and get the free 6 months on my Android and then login to the same newly created app on the iPhone.

Of course, the iPhone app keeps crashing but I don't think that's related to this offer.

Worth noting that some AmEx cards include a free Boingo membership. The SPG Amex does, I know.

Also worth noting that it is not necessary to use any Boingo "app" to access the bundled American Express account. Discussion here:

Great to know! I have the SPG Amex but rarely use it. May have to dig into it.

Does anyone what Boingo plan this gives you? Is it the global Mobile plan, or the Americas unlimited? Might be nice if it's the global Mobile plan, as we're taking an anniversary trip to Italy this October and free local wifi would be nice where we can get it.

We're both on VZW, although my plan is corporate-paid. No worries for me getting international calling/data, but the $10/day TravelPass isn't the most cost-effective solution for my wife, and $40/mo for 100 minutes, 100 SMS, and 100MB data is not exactly a great deal, given how easy it is to accidentally go over the 100MB.

We have Amex Platinum and have set up Passpoint and the Boingo client. My iPhone goes to WiFi calling in most European airports, train stations, and Mc Donald.

I'm unable to find the boingo app in the amazon fire tablet app. I see other "actually free" apps all over but not Boingo. Any ideas?

Are you looking in the Amazon Underground app? That's different from the Amazon App store.
