You pull Samsung out, and there's no iPad Mini, and iPhones are probably still a single 3.5" size.

FTM, if you pull Samsung out, Android probably still is mostly phones with keyboards, which would be a plus in my book but not most people's.

Jobs worked on the iPhone 5 and was already mandating options for larger. Galaxy Note really was Samsung's signature step up. It's a shame they hard-bake Touchwiz in when few care for its gunky additions.

I wish Apple or Blackberry would innovate a better hybrid screen/keypad UI that doesn't involve a flip-down or slide-out panel. Miss my old Treo's physical console but not PalmOS so much.

Perhaps, or maybe not. Having two rival behemoths can be better for consumers than having just one behemoth that ends up being a complete monopoly and a monopsony too.

So, another Apple launch yesterday.

New 21.5 inch 4K iMac... but still with Broadwell processors, and a maximum 512GB SSD. Marvellous. Wallet-back-in-pocket.

But, you can buy a new Trackpad for £109

I did last year when the old nano I rescued from the kids' drawer finally gave up. Feather light, cheap, larger music capacity than the iphone, saving the iphone's battery, etc, etc. Use it at the gym, jogging, plane (I shove my iphone in the handluggage)

FWIW I still use the ipod classic 120GB - all my music fits on it.
