Wifi rental for multiple coutries?

Does anyone have a workable solution for renting a portable wifi for a trip spanning multiple countries?
I tried searching a bit, but it seams I would need one for each country?
I have a trip coming up to the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Japan and I would like some advice if anyone has a solution.
TIA

iPhone Trip, but you might do better with an unlocked MiFi and prepaid SIMs. You'll be paying apx $15 a day, but won't need to buy hotel WiFi. The other advantage in China is that you'll get US internet and the walled Chinese version.

WiFi rental? If you need data in multiple countries, you can look into getting a sim in each country. Then you can use it in an unlocked phone, or MiFi.
