The myth that this forum is the only place where people complain about DHS/TSA

Some folks have the mistaken idea that the Travel Safety/Security forum is the only place on the internet where the DHS/TSA is criticized. Many of us are quick to point out the comments section on news reports of the TSA’s continuous string of blunders, but what other about chat boards?

Here's a few to get started with:

There are plenty more - especially general aviation forums. But I'm sure that security professionals can stumble upon those while searching for other prohibited postings....

I've heard there is a poster named sanchezpaulk on the AOPA forums writes a fair amount of commentary on the TSA. Can't say I've met him though.

Might be easier to list the sites that are pro TSA. Most would end in .gov for the URL.

A wealth of commentary. I love one airline pilot's solution to the pee in the seat directive:
If the flight attendant calls up with a pax who needs to go the response was:
Easy, turn around and put yourself greater than 1 hour from arrival.

I can just hear it now:
Pilot: "CENTER, DL 9999, REQUEST"
Cntr: "DL 9999, go ahead"
DL9999: Need to make a 20 mile right 360 turn for passenger comfort.
Cntr: DL9999, are you declaring an emergency?
DL9999: Negative. Declaring Pee-mergency.
Cntr: Proceed as requested.

^ +1 from me...

If you ignore the few generic posts that basically say "Thank you TSA we need you in a [pre][post], [9/11],[these terror] times, you are doing a great job keeping us [safe][warm][cool][employed]" then I don't know of a single place on internet and in real life where the TSA is well respected...

I bet the only pro TSA comments are from the kettles that fly only once per year...

Whenever I see an article about TSA in the Washington Post, there are a few pro-TSA comments from the Kettles, but before long the anti-TSA comments flood the comment site and end up being the overwhelming majority.

Thank you so much for posting this. Which screener just said this week that we are the only ones to complain about the TSA? Your links are most likely just the tip of the iceberg because this is mostly all pilot related. I'm sure there are other groups of people complaining too. I would love to hear what some of the FA's have to say. ^

You forgot PV -- even with Bob's moderation, there are still lots of folks complaining about TSA there.

The long moderation delays make it absolutely awful for discussion.

Discussion isn't what TSA wants - they want a place where they can spout propaganda.
